Here's how it works...

We have an initial no-obligation virtual call. This is where we get to know each other a little, and you get to decide if you want to work with me. We’ll share a little of our stories and understand where you are at in your role, the challenges you have and what you’d love to get from coaching.

I explain a little more about what coaching is, and how I work. Together we consider what the best options are for you. If I don’t think I’m the best coach or mentor for where you are right now I’ll provide a list of other coaches I recommend who I think would be a great fit for you. This is about YOUR development and YOUR leadership. You always lead the agenda in coaching.

If you’ve never had coaching before we’ll talk about what makes for a great session and you’ll get to experience what it feels like to be coached through a real issue you’re facing right now.

If we decide we’re a great fit you choose what package option is best for you. I’ll share some documents that describe the coaching relationship and assure you of my alignment with the ICF code of ethics.

Payment can be via an invoice I send to you or your manager or you can pay via the website. We’ll discuss this on our initial call and I’ll clarify any questions.

Then it flows like this

  • Make your booking for a time that works best for you via my Calendly booking site

  • We have a 1 hour 1:1 session. This can be virtual or face-to-face if you are in Auckland

  • I send a follow-up email in the next 24 hours, that has a summary of our discussion points, links, resources or other tools that have come up during our session.

  • You book your next session and we keep on going.

  • At the end of the series, we’ll wrap up with some reflection on what insights you’ve had, the changes you’ve made and the impact it’s had on you and your team.

Testimonials

Hi, I’m Katie

I’ve worked in healthcare for 30 years with over 20 of those as a people leader. My career has spanned senior clinical roles that involved autonomous practice and developing nurse-led services. A significant amount of my healthcare career has had a quality and patient safety focus. I’ve been a Nurse Consultant for quality and Safety, a Quality Department manager and an Improvement Advisor for a clinical speciality. I’ve led and developed teams in patient-facing spaces, and service management and senior leadership as a Nurse Director. My healthcare career is broad and diverse, and that expertise is what I bring to support your development.

I was a member of the Global Women Breakthrough Leaders cohort in 2020 and discovered a space for me to define and develop what I can offer those working and leading in healthcare today and into the future.

I’ve trained as a coach with the Neuroleadership Institute, gaining the Brain-Based Coaching Certificate in 2022. I’ve taken additional training in Clinical Supervision via the University of East Anglia. I’m an Emotional Culture Deck Practitioner and a trained mental health first aider.

As a vertical mindset indicator coach, we can debrief your vertical mindset assessment, setting actions and intentions for you to build your capacity as a leader. Read more about vertical development as a leader here.

Resources

  • Your personal values

Your values are your guideposts. They act as a filter for decision-making and define how you want to lead.

Knowing and being able to name your values is core for a leader in healthcare. Defining and understanding your values gives you awareness of your triggers and the type of work you’ll excel at.

This workbook creates a structure and guide to defining your two core values.
